BOTANIC
GARDEN ALPINIA
The botanic garden Alpinia is located
near Stresa (in the province of Verbania, Italy) at
800 m altitude and can be reached following the road
that leads to the Mottarone peak (1491 m) or by cable
car (Lido Alpino Mottarone). It was founded by Igino
Ambrosini and Giuseppe Rossi in 1934 and it stretches
on about 4 ha. of land, enjoying one of the finest
viewpoints of the region. Characteristic for the garden
are above all the species belonging to the alpine
and subalpine zones of the Alps, although quite remarkable
are also some species common to the Caucasus as well
as to China and Japan.
It is open from April until October: from 9.30 to
18.00.

Der botanische Garten Alpinia befindet
sich in der Nähe von Stresa ( Provinz von Verbania,
Italia ) auf 800 m Höhe und ist durch der Seilbahl
(Lido Alpino Mottarone) oder durch die Straße,
die zur Spitze des Mottarone Berges (1491 m) führt,
erreichbar.
Der Garten zichnet sich durch einen großartigen
Rundblick aus. Er nimmt ca 4 Hektar ein und wurde
1934 von Igino Ambrosini und Giuseppe Rossi gegründet.
Die Pflanzenarten in diesem Garten gehören haupsächtlich
zu der alpinen und subalpinen Stufe der Alpen, jedoch
sind hier auch Pflanzenarten des Kaukasus, sowie aus
China und Japan zu beobachten.
Öffnungszeiten: Vom April bis Oktober: von 9.30
bis 18.00 Uhr.

BOTANIQUE ALPINIA
On atteint le jardin botanique Alpinia,
situé sur les hauts de Stresa (Province de
Verbania, Italie), à 800 m d'altitude, en empruntant
la route qui mène vers le sommet du Mottarone
(1491 m) ou par téléphérique
(Lido Alpino Mottarone). Situé sur un magnifique
emplacement panoramique, sur une superficie de près
de quatre hectares, le jardin fut réalisé
en 1934 par Igino Ambrosini et Giuseppe Rossi.
La spécialisation principale d'Alpinia se retrouve
essentiellement dans les espèces provenant
de l'étage alpin et subalpin des Alpes; on
y remarque également des espèces originaires
du Caucase, de la Chine et du Japon.
Ouvert au public du avril au octobre: de 9.30 à
18.00.
